Awesome!

This self striping yarn is awesome! I love knitting along and seeing what will happen next. The only problem is that it's hard to stop. This is my very first sock. Ever. In my life. I trust Mr. You Tube will be a big help when it's time to turn the heel, and again when it's time to graft the toe. :>

Just a really tiny venting memo. Why do people think that just because I sew I am available to alter their suits, replace their zippers, and modify their hoodies? One time someone I barely knew said, "How much would you charge to make a wedding dress?" The answer, "Nothing, because I wouldn't do it." I tell you they were just stunned. As though, you sew, of course you'd do it. This vent does not include family - I am happy to do my family's sewing - that's part of being a family. Thank you for listening.

Diana, I know just what you mean...
Because I have a pretty large workplace, I was always geting asked to take up trousers, fix zippers, remodel things....Now I just say "you can't afford me"

They think I am bonkers but I don't care !

Your sock is looking great, Diana. You might like to visit my friend Margaret's blog. She's knitting socks right now too, and does it quite a lot. She may be able to help you if you need any. Her blog is <a href="http://bellathenasblog.blogspot.com/>here</a> if you want to check it out.

I don't blame you for not wanting to do everyone else's sewing. You have to be able to tell people no, otherwise they will take advantage of you.

Good luck with the socks love the wool you are using they look so good.

I know what you mean about sewing and no you are not venting at all you are just stating that sewing is your hobby not your job.

Wow! You gals are all brilliant. Especially since I've been whining about this problem my entire blogging life.

Jodie, I don't dare tell the people I work for that they can't afford me! (I work for five doctors :>})

Daisy, you're right, I need to learn to say no, and I did visit Margaret's blog. Her household looks much like mine. Guitars, ice cream, pets, and knitting. Thanks for the intro! :0)

Suzanne, that line is my new mantra. Thank you! Sewing is my hobby, not my job, when said with a smile, could really work for me. I like it a lot!

Great first sock! You are brave- I took a class for my first sock. I used self-striping, too. Isn't it great? there's always a new color just around the bend.

Thanks for stopping by the blog.
