Life happens

Quick! Go visit to Jackie at www.cvquiltworks.blogspot.com. You just have time to enter her amazing birthday giveaway before the deadline on June 30. She is giving away four prizes plus a secret prize, so that makes 5 chances to win! There were 329 comments already when I dropped by, but you can't win if you don't try, and a girl can never have too much fabric or too many books. (My family might not agree with that one, as they look around for a place to store their own things and find it's already full of fabric.)

I was just sitting down to add this post Tuesday evening when I got a phone call that changed the rest of my week pretty dramatically. I won't go into detail now, but my mom is having a tough time, and needs a lot more care than she did. I have the week off from work next week, so will spend part of each day with her.

Remember the I Spy quilt that I mentioned a while ago? I changed my plan, and decided to add colorful borders to each square instead of using a single colored sashing. I haven't made much progress yet.

The morning glories are noticeably bigger now than they were just three days ago. We have several of these pots around the yard, hoping to save some from the hungry groundhogs who LOVE the tender little leaves.
Our pumpkin patch. :>}

We were astonished to see these mushrooms growing in the backyard.
I hope you have a good weekend.

Hi Diana, hope it all works out with your mum. I have heard some pretty sad stories working in the aged care industry and its hard for the person and family.
Hope this week goes well for you.

I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's added health troubles, Diana. I think we are both going through similar situations. I know your mind is on your mom and her care, but don't forget to allow time for yourself too. We all need some time off once in a while.

Your quilt looks like it will be very pretty when you are done. The I Spy theme is a fun idea. :-)

Isn't it funny how mushrooms just sort of spring up out of nowhere over night like that. I am always surprised to find them growing in the yard too.

I hope you and Larry have a nice weekend.

Hope things are going well Di, isn't life good at throwing curve balls just when you don't need them :-(

I love your I spy quilt, I have to make another one of those soon for a small person of my acquaintance. I like the bright borders :-)
