Just Do It

You've all heard me whine before when someone asks me to do some sewing for them. One of the five doctors I work for asked me to make six cushion covers for some furniture. Isn't the fabric great? Flip flops on one side and stripes on the other. The only problem is, I have a short attention span for such projects. I have two of them finished (more or less), and do you think I want to make four more? No. . . I want to make something fun, of my own choosing.
she asked for placemats of the same fabric. I love making placemats, which are really just small quilts, so I won't whine about that. Maybe.

See this good looking group? It is a photo of my 35th high school reunion, held Saturday evening. It was such fun to be in a group where we all knew one another's background, and every one of us is 53 years old! It was a much smaller turnout than we had for our 30th in 2004, but times are tight. Not as many people could travel this year, but I only had to go about 15 miles. We had a good time, and plan to meet again in 2014. (I'm kneeling far right)

I don't blame you for wanting to do fun sewing instead of work for someone else. I have always absolutely hated having to do mending or sew on loose buttons, but would much rather make something new from a pattern.

Your reunion looks like a lot of fun. Must have been nice to get together and talk about old times.

Fun sewing is more enjoyable. I too would get a little sick of doing the same. One cushion cover and I would have been over it.
I was kind of like that with the wedding photos, I wanted to edit different ones to what the couple wanted.

Hope you had fun at your reunion.

Don't feel bad that you'd rather do fun sewing..Those Dr's could afford to buy cushions unless they are paying you a good penny for "Custom made"...
The group looks like a group of "Happy Campers" and why wouldn't they be..how nice to have a reunion of so many years...I'd love to see some of my old classmates...Ginny

I don't blame you for wanting to sew something fun! I can't wait to get started myself!

What a great looking group--especially that redhead on the far right in front! Thanks for the taste of summer. Is that the canal where Daniel is reflecting? Have a lovely time on your first swim--or have you had the first swim of the year already? Love, Sara

Fun sewing is better, but think how happy your friend will be knowing that the covers were made by you :-)

Hope you manage to get the rest of the cushions out of the way quickly. It is much more fun doing your own thing. Glad you enjoyed your reunion, it is nice to catch up again.
