Gracious Gifts

Larry's mother, Betty, bought several raffle tickets for a chance to win this lovely quilt. She's been supporting the organization for over two decades, and this year she was the lucky winner. More precisely, we are the lucky winners, because she gave it to us! The colors are exquisite, for some reason blogger doesn't do them justice here. It is hand quilted with beautiful stitching, and fits our bed perfectly. Thank you, Betty, for this gracious gift.

Among God's many gracious gifts are the spectacular sunrises and sunsets He shares every single day to anyone watching. Larry and I view the sunset over our garage most evenings, and often wish we could see it without trees or buildings in the way.
Our favorite part of our trip was getting to see these magnificent sunsets.
Each day was different, all stunning.

How lucky to have won such a beautiful quilt, and how thoughtful that she gave it to you. Those sunsets are fabulous! It always amazes me how different the sky can look from one day to the next.

What a wonderful, wonderful present to give you- and of all the people who might have ended up winning that sumptious quilt it has landed with someone who will truly treasure it! I hope the maker(s) know that, as it would be such a blessing to know one's work was treasured. Your sunset photos are amazing colours!
I'm working backwards down your page here...

Hi Diana,
How lucky you are to have inherited such a lovely quilt !

And I was just reading about your vacation on Lake Michigan, sounds really wonderful... for the first time in 11 years ? That is one thing I really love about France, vacation is a sacred part of life, highly revered and respected, and there is plenty of time off... America needs to relax a little bit more perhaps ?

But Lake Michigan sounds lovely, it is such a huge body of water. I once went all the way up to a place called Drummond Island. In fact the TV that had been shot which I posted a few posts back is from the town dump on Drummond Island, as is the rusty Pepsi cooler just below it. One had to be careful of bears, if I recall.

Take care and a fine rest of the summer to you, hope it's not too hot where you are, was just reading about a heat wave in the northeast...
