The thing about knitting. . .

is, that no matter how cranky or out of sorts I feel, once I've knit a few rows I feel so much better. It's like taking a walk or doing yoga. My mother-in-law had hip surgery last week, and I knit a whole snowman for her while we were waiting at the hospital. She enjoyed watching me knit part of it before they whisked her off to the operating room, and it was good to have something to do during the surgery. That one even has his own tiny pair of mittens! It's the first time I've ever knit two mittens of the same pair. Tee hee.

I went to Goodwill for some more yarn, and I may branch out and learn to knit something besides snowmen. :>}

Your snowmen are adorable, Diana! It is good to have something to occupy your time when you have to sit and wait like that. I usually try to take something to read when I have to be in a waiting room, but it is easy to get distracted from it by the other people and activity in the room. Knitting or crocheting might be a better idea.

I hope you MIL recovers from her hip surgery and maybe your knitting would have been a great distration while waiting at the hospital.
The snowman look wonderful and it's very exciting to see your knitting.

I think they are gorgeous, and knitting is a great ice-breaker (ha ha) when you are in places like hospitals when talking is good but people don't always like to make the first move.

Knitting is so portable (well small projects are!) and very relaxing (when it goes right!)

Thanks, ladies! Betty is recovering nicely. Today we took a birthday party to her at the rehab place where she is relearning to walk. Two years ago she was there for her birthday as well. :0/ Same hip.

Conveniently enough, it is the place where my mom lives, so we get to visit both our moms at the same time, and wheel them back and forth to visit one another.

THanks for the visiting my blog!! It's always nice to "meet" someone new. Your snowmen are so cute! I collect snowmen. I had all mine out until yesterday, figured with all the snow we had outside it was time to put them away.
