to use a nasty dishrag. Yesterday I got out the hand knit dishrag. It's great!
I have no idea yet what I'm doing with these.
It may be fall, but the petunias and sweet alysum still look good. 
We put some mums in this fall. Every time I see them I remember my after school job at Hough Bakeries. All the fall cakes had lovely frosting mums on them. 
Such pretty colors! Thanks to Larry for buying them and planting them. The gal at the store (Aldi) told us, "When you see the ad saying we'll have mums, you have to get here at 9:00 when we open. If you wait until 9:15 they'll be gone." Larry got there a minute or two before the store opened, and eight people were ahead of him. When the door opened they all zoomed over to the flower display, and within minutes they were all gone. Of course other stores in town have more, but you can't beat $3 per plant.I hope you have a wonderful week.

What a pleasure using the handmade dish cloths. I wore all of mine out .and gave the girls a couple.You have just started to spoil yourself. I found buying the blue (wash cloth's) size at Sam's Club is good for me, I like the size and I don't get them mixed up with wash cloths at Laundry time, I do them with the bar towels that I find good to use for dish towels. Cecil gets them so soiled with the stove. I use a lot of pots etc. when I'm cooking and he does the cleanup.
Oh my! That is a really great price! No wonder they are all gone so fast :) They really brighten up your yard, don't they?!
I love the quilting you did. Isn't it strange how you end up having blocks that you have no idea what to do with?! I saw a quilt made entirely from "stray" blocks like that...fun quilt ;)
Your knit dish cloth is bright and cheery, Diana, and your guitar quilt squares look great. I'm sure you'll find a use for them. $3 is quite a bargain for the mums. They look very pretty planted there in your yard.

Tine, I think I was looking for a project, and had a half formed idea. Then suddenly - wham! I have three projects with early to mid October deadlines. :0] Isn't that always the way??
Daisy, I recommend hand knit or crocheted dish cloths very highly. Miss Ginny taught me that!
The dishi word verification is funny! Speaking of which, sometimes I don't get a word at all, then when I enter my name and password I get a message saying to try again, and it does show a word that time. Does that happen to anyone else, and if so is there a way to get the word the first time?
Wow! How wonderful pictures you have! I am so slowly to make the guitar quilt for my son, but I´ll make it! I never tried to knit dish cloths.
Diana, that happens to me with the word verification sometimes too, but I don't know why or how to avoid it. Sometimes it helps me to log in to Blogger first and then comment, but I'm not sure if that works all the time. It is annoying. Just a glitch in Blogger, I think.
Diana your garden looks so colourful. I love how our seasons are opposite so we get to celebrate each season 2 times a year.
Thank you, Anne! We do love flowers. You'll have lots of time in the winter to make the guitar quilt for your son. After you told me that it's dark 20 hours per day in the winter I realized you'd have to have something you LOVE to do inside. Quilting - perfect!
