I love leftovers!

I have washed at least 700 dishes today, but the results are worth it. I love having leftovers on hand to serve for meals. To me they are like money in the bank, well worth their weight in gold. You know why? Because they give me the rarest thing of all - time!

I was so busy I didn't even think to get out the camera to show you, but no doubt you've all seen a messy kitchen before. :>}

I made birthday cake; carrot cake again, the gentlemen in the family like it the best. I don't know how the chocolate preference skipped a generation in our family. I also made birthday cookies. Not sure why, just wanted to pamper the birthday boy. Well, okay, and myself. I do love cookies much better than cake.

We had a tasty pot roast for dinner, with mashed potatoes, green beans, and homemade rolls, and I can just heat leftovers the rest of the weekend. Nice!

Oh that meal sounds delicious, Diana. I prefer cookies over cake too. Although, I don't usually turn down cake either! I know what you mean about leftovers. It is so nice to just pull them out and zap them in the microwave. Makes it easy.

Thanks, Daisy! It's hard to remember how we managed before microwaves, but for years I used to heat things up in the double boiler. Our children cannot imagine life without a microwave.

Sounds delicious and baking in the kitchen is lots of fun when you have the time.
I always try to make many things at the one time so the rest of the week is easier.

Ladydi,you better watch out, those cookies are like pound cakes, they give you pounds :o)...Ginny

Suzanne, I'm hearing that your part of the world is a bit warm for doing any baking right now. I hope you're staying comfortable.

Thanks for the reminder, Ginny. The pounds add on so easily, and are so hard to get rid of. :0/

Wow you've been busy...but if you have leftovers you'd better keep it quiet or you'll find your fridge full of bloggers...or perhaps their children!!!

Heckety, nothing would make me happier than to find you all here for a day of leftovers. Hey, for you all I'd make something new!
