Help!

This is from the quilt kit I bought in October. It was the first and last time I will ever buy a quilt kit. The instructions are the worst and the cut fabric amounts do not match the requirements. Fortunately I bought enough to make a pillow case as well, and was able to use that fabric for the quilt. My question is, do you like the blue corner posts? Since it's for a baby I thought black might be a bit stark, but I do think black squares would look better.

This is the back. It came out a little longer than the front, so I am going to make the brown stripes about half the width they are now. No more quilt kits for me! I prefer to either buy what I need or use what I already have, but not be assigned incorrect amounts. AAK!

you are right, black does sound a bit stark but then I suppose the baby won't be a baby forever. Is making the corner posts in a dark brown to match a possibility?

I would certainly complain to the kit makers. Insufficient fabric in a kit is rubbish.

I would let the kit makers know there was not enough fabric.
I like the sky-fabric. It is a really pretty print and I think it brigthens the quilt up ;)
It'll be a wonderful quilt either way!

I'm not loving the sky blue, but am not sure what should go in its place!

I'm not keen on the blue corners either, think you should try something else. Do complain to the kit supplier, see what they have to say. I have had kits that have been very generous and I think only one that was very mean - almost had to stretch the fabric to get it out.

I would personally change the whole final border to one print and I think that it would help tie it all together. Not very helpful though if you need to buy more fabric to do it. Good luck

I think black might be better. There are enough other colors in the print to keep the black from being too stark. Sorry to hear there wasn't enough fabric. I think you've done a wonderful job with it just the same, though.

Oh I just love it all, I think both colours would be great. I really dont think black would be that harsh, as sometimes it really calms a scene.
Good luck with the choice.

I like the blue but see that the others don't much. I think the blue lifts it. I remember your buying it, and its such a shame it wasn't a good kit.
