Thank you, Chile!

Thank you, Chile, for sharing your delicious blueberries with us! Just when I was thinking that winter doesn't have much to recommend it, our favorite grocery store has blueberries from Chile. What says "summer" more than blueberries? Okay, I know, a lot of things do, like beaches and peaches and swimming. But in February we take what we can get around here, and I am thankful for these tasty berries that traveled such a long way to get here. I don't actually know anyone in Chile, but it's awfully nice of them to share with us. When Larry sees my bowl of cereal with berries, he often says, "Is there any cereal in there?" or perhaps, "Have a little cereal with your blueberries."
See - there really is cereal in there. All Bran bran buds to be specific.

Very nice of them to share, for sure... I wonder how much a blueberry picker gets paid in Chile ? Your Aunt Betsy would freeze blueberries in the Summer so we would have them all winter long... Sure wish I could show you a picture of one of the scrumptious blueberry pies she would make from frozen berries... I can still see it and smell it like yesterday ! How the steam would come out when the crust was cut, and that warm, rich smell would permeate the dining room... But we didn't have digital cameras back then. And no computers, so no blogs or email or ipods... and so on... I'm hungry now ! ! !

Diana, I do the same thing with the cereal and blueberries. The cereal is always buried down underneath! :D

Oh I am so glad you could get blueberries and I don't think there is a problem having cereal with your fruit, very healthy and yum.
