I bought the pre-quilted fabric below when the quilt shop was having a Super Bowl sale last year. It would make a nice bag, but it's not blue.

Make both and then decide, that way you either have a nappy bag spare for when someone has a baby, or you have a nice bag for yourself!
I like both of them, but I know what you mean about diaper bag look, by the way we call diapers, nappies.
I really like the 2nd one for a bag but I am sure your mother in law would like either.

I like both of those fabrics, Diana. I think I like the second one better, but I don't know what your mother in law would prefer. I bet she would like either one when made by you.
