I enjoyed reading the artists' stories about why they made the quilts. This one was sad. The quilter said she hated everything about making this quilt, but her friends wouldn't let her give it up.
This one was made by someone who is legally blind. I just love the stained glass window effect.
This was entirely hand pieced and hand quilted - way beyond my comprehension.
This Hawaiin quilt is so pretty. I wish I could have gotten a photo of the whole thing, but there wasn't any room to move around to get a better shot.You don't have to tell me how lucky I am to have a husband who not only remembered the quilt show, but suggested we go!

Wow! My DH would rather have a tooth pulled than go to a quilt show! Luckily his best friend feels the same way, while his wife, like me, loves them. It works :-)
Wow Diana they really are beautiful, it must have been so delightful seeing them in real life.
By the way sorry Diana, I think you asked when we went to Bangkok. It was Nov. 2007, my 1st trip overseas ever.
Allan won a lucky door prize a trip for 1 to Bangkok, so we only had to pay for one. I loved it even though I was scared to go.

Hi Di ! Sounds like a great time ! Even as a guy I would have liked to seen these at the show ; so wonderful to have you there to do the reporting job, nice photos. Did you ever see any of the quilts that your Aunt Betsy did ? We have one of them here in France, and are lucky in that... Nice to snuggle up under a good warm quilt on a cold Winter night !

Hi Diana, just answering your question about my work. I work in aged care as a support worker. It involves me visiting elderly that are still a little capable living in their own home. Each person has different needs. Some I help to shower, some I shop for, some I just make social calls (these are easy) and sometimes housework and cooking.
It really is rewarding work with not much stress but I do like to have the same people and roster each week, its much better for me and them.
After this week I am changing to different days but people I know well so it will be quite good. At the moment I have been filling in other shifts as well but after next week, I will get more hours but have my own people I know well.
