Getting organized

Something about the new year prompts me to get organized. What a mess my desk had become.
Tidying up generated lots of papers to be recycled. One thing always leads to another, and I cleaned the filing cabinet as well, since I could no longer stuff any more papers into the over filled folders.

And then I thought how handy it would be to have a little shelf beside the desk. Mainly because the little shelf sat on top of the printer ever since it was determined to be the wrong size for someone else's project, and - ahem - that person never did anything else with it. Who knew it would take this many tools to install one small shelf?

All done! Thank you, Larry, for the new shelf! In the "after" picture, it's on the right with the camera case and a white box on it.

What a beautiful desk you have!! A new year is a great excuse for tidying up those places we usually never get to! You did a wonderful job! The shelf looks great too, and it must be nice to have some extra storage space :)

Great job, Diana! There are several spots in my house that need to be organized and overhauled. One thing at a time, I suppose. :)

I love seeing where you do your things and I always have a plan to keep filing organised each tax year. By the end of the year it isnt that way at all.

I've always known blogger buddies are the best! Thanks for all your nice comments (on a relatively boring subject).

Tine, this desk came from a garage sale seven or eight years ago - I like it, too!

Ginny, I definitely have to be in the right mood to get things in order. Your daughter isn't coming to inspect your housekeeping, but maybe she'll help you. :0}

Diana, what fun to share our name! I do visit Ravelry and love seeing how 16 people can make the same thing and they're all different in some way.

So true, Daisy! I only hope the cleaning bug stays with me long enough to clean our porch. I don't think I've ever posted a photo because it's always a disaster.

I know just what you mean, Suzanne. It's always fun to see the setting of our friends lives.
