The list also requires a sewing maching in good working order, complete with instruction manual. Thank heavens my machine is working well. A friend borrowed my manual TWELVE years ago, and I felt a little funny asking for it back, but the class list must be followed, so I bravely asked her to return it, and here it is! I had to make six muslin quilt sandwiches, twenty inches square, using cotton batting. 
You want to know something funny? The class isn't until October 22, and here I am all ready for it!
I ordered the quilting foot from http://www.keepsakequilting.com/, and while I was paging through their delightful catalog I came across these amazingly beautiful fabric medleys. I'm always trying to create the perfect sunrise over water. If I can't do it with these, I'm pretty pathetic.
If you remember the end of August a year ago, I made a wall hanging in honor of peaches. I really tried to learn to do links so I could show you. Ahem. I think I need a tutor. Any volunteers? Anyway, it says, "If God made something better than a peach, He kept it for Himself." I gave it to the nice family who owns the peach farm (after buying the peaches so they wouldn't think I was looking for free peaches). :>} Now that peach season is over I thought they might like a companion wall hanging, since they also have excellent apples. I sent this one through the mail.

Hi Diana! Do you think the quilting foot has really made a big difference? I'm too terrified to try machine quilting - but like you I don't have the right foot. Should I buy one?

Hi, Lucy! Yes, the quilting foot makes an enormous difference. I already had a walking foot which works really well for a plain grid, but I wanted to try something with curves. The one I bought is called a Big Foot. I love it!
LOL, Jodie! You're right. I'm glad she was able to find it. She asked me to photocopy it for her since I needed it back so soon. :>}
Hi Diana! How exciting for you to get to take the quilting course. I bet you will have a lot of fun with that. Those fabric colors for a sunrise over water are beautiful!

Hi, Tine! As much as I hate to tell people to go spend money, I do recommend this quilt foot. $25 seems steep for a little piece of plastic, but it works so amazingly well that it's worth it. Especially when I think of all the quilting stitches I have had to remove because they came out badly. :>}
Oh good, Diana! I'm feeling sorry for myself today, so what could be better than buying myself a quilting foot :) I'm off to the shops!!
BTW I uploaded pics of some very special giraffes for you on my blog :)
